The writers’ strike is over and Hollywood is working around the clock to make up for lost time. Trust that the big suits behind the scenes at this year’s Academy Awards show are breathing heavy sighs of relief that there won’t be a band of bearded scribes picketing their longstanding celebration of the silver screen. Who will take the Best Picture prize? No Country for Old Men? There Will Be Blood? Atonement? Or will it be some flick you didn’t catch at the multiplex? You can find out tonight from the comfort of your living room, like all the other nobodies. Or you can pretend you’re an A-lister at Oscar Night America, the only Academy-sanctioned bash in town.

Get all dolled up to hit the red carpet at 6:30 p.m., and then enjoy the live telecast beginning at 8 at Hotel Victor. Between categories, you can hobnob with local luminaries such as Laurie Jennings, Elaine Lancaster, and Miami Beach Cinematheque founder Dana Keith. Tickets cost $150 per person, but that inflated tag comes with vino by Libation and The Love of Wine, cocktails by Ketel One, gourmet eats, and a fabulous gift bag. Proceeds benefit the Miami Beach Cinematheque.
