Say ... cheese? Sorry, Charlie. Blub, blub is more like it. The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science is hosting the 2006 Underwater Photography Contest, open to amateur photographers who have a way with the lens — fisheye and otherwise. The best shot in each of three categories — Wide Angle, Macro, and Fish or Marine Animal Portrait — wins the happy snapper (or tuna) $200. (Gee, that’s enough for clambakes all around!) Second place brings $100, and third promises $50. But that’s not all. The best overall picture taker goes home with a trip aboard Aqua Cat from Nassau to Exuma, Bahamas, plus $300. With that kind of dough, you won’t have to wrench open a clam for her pearly wonders. But beware, all chlorine heads: No pool or aquarium shots are allowed; you need to go deep and salty for this one. All entries must be received by the end of the day today, so don’t miss the boat. Call 305-421-4000, or visit www.rsmas.miami.edu/support/advancement/uw 2006 for details.
