Based on award-winning author Sherman Alexies short stories, Smoke Signals centers on two boys on the Coeur DAlene Indian reservation in Idaho, who could not be more different. Victor is the extrovert who excels at basketball and Thomas is the savant who lives with his grandmother after the death of his parents. The journey the two young men take to the home of Victors estranged father in far off Arizona brings out of the past the remarkable events that brought them together. The film is part of The Big Read film series, presented by the Florida Center for the Literary Arts and Miami International Film Festival.
