What’s more Miami — specifically, more Cuban — than roasting and eating a giant, tasty pig with friends and neighbors? The second PALO! Cuban Pig Out at the Performing Arts Exchange (PAX) (337 SW Eighth St., Miami) is just that — with music, booze, and art added to the mix. Organizers call this art benefit a “funky twist on the traditional Cuban guateque campesino” (a celebratory gathering of friends and family with music, roast pork, and beer). After eating themselves silly, attendees can spend the evening playing games, browsing art installations, and even getting massages. Two-dollar cornhole games, prize raffles, and live painting are just a few of the nighttime diversions. Plus there’ll be sweet, sweet ice cream by Azucar. PALO!’s Afro-Cuban funk sounds will fill the air beginning at 6 p.m. It all benefits Life Is Art, working to promote and support Miami’s arts community.
