Fred Astaire Coral Gables
There's nothing more classic than ballroom dancing, and Fred Astaire offers lessons for dancers at all stages. Its introductory program shows new dancers different dances for them to discover what they might be interested in learning. The next stage is the beginner program, which teaches dancers — both solo and pairs — the basic elements of dance, including the different tempos of music and the confidence that makes a comfortable dancer. This stage is followed by the social foundation, which takes the lessons a step further with a chance for individuals to design a program with their instructor that fits their lifestyle and dancing desires. The final programs are the bronze, silver, and gold programs, which is a trophy system allowing skilled dancers to perform in ballroom dances with more intricate moves.

Fred Astaire teaches both international and American styles of dance, including the waltz, tango, foxtrot, Viennese waltz, cha-cha, rumba, swing, bolero, mambo, salsa, merengue, and samba.

Fred Astaire is located at 4008 Aurora St. in Coral Gables. Call 305-443-0085 or visit fredastairecoralgables.com.

Flamenco Puro Dance Company
Started by artistic dancer and choreographer Clarita Filgueiras, this dance studio is a haven for those looking to learn flamenco. Filgueiras is an expert in flamenco dancing, with experience professionally dancing in the United States and Spain. Filgueiras shares her passion for and expertise in flamenco dancing through classes of all levels. The beginner’s “flamenco light” class introduces new dancers to footwork and hand movements. Her upper classes build on that, with a beginner's class that incorporates more upper-body technique and choreography. The intermediate flamenco class focuses on technique, sevillanas — a type of dance from the Seville region of Spain — and bulerias, a specific flame rhythm. The advanced class is a challenging opportunity for true flamenco aficionados.

Flamenco Puro is located in Coral Gables. For the address or dance lesson information, call 786-282-8810 or visit claritafilgueiras.com.
