In 2005, when he got pulled over by the no-good fuzz for driving 109 mph on a Georgia highway in his Bentley Continental, Chris Tucker supposedly told the cops he was in a rush because he was late for church. He still got arrested. What a bunch of pigs, huh? The next month, Tucker was called as a witness in a Michael Jackson sex trial, and he testified favorably for MJ. Now that’s a stand-up dude. To top it all off, before rising to worldwide stoner fame for his role as Smokey in Friday alongside unapologetic gangsta Ice Cube, Tucker played a character named Johnny Booze in the unheralded American movie classic House Party 3. It’s an established fact in Hollywood cinema that bit players in Kid ’n Play movies go on to become millionaires. This Saturday at the Fillmore Miami Beach, Tucker will show why he makes more money in two days than we do in ten years. He’s that funny.
