Never trust anybody who doesnt like dogs. But be even more leery of dopes who say canines are better than people. Sure, theyre your best friend, but theyll take a dump in the living room and lick themselves inappropriately in front of company. Considering your own Fido got into the marshmallow bag again and left his own brand of smores all over the dining room, you might find it difficult to watch the amazing feats of properly trained pups at the Incredible Dogs show at Bicentennial Park this Wednesday.
The show will feature 38 dogs and 25 trainers under a 40,000-square-foot big top. Thats a whole lotta space, and the pooches make good use of it as they perform Frisbee stunts, dive into water, and run through obstacles courses. Among other acts, the spectacle will showcase Julio an English bulldog that specializes in extreme skateboarding and mathematical equations and Bella and Grit, world Frisbee champs. Also on hand will be celebrity dogs that have starred in Disneys Life Is Ruff and Water for Elephants.
Fifty percent of the show dogs are rescued, and a portion of ticket sales will go to the Humane Society. Oh, and if you get suckered into believing you can also have a well-behaved dog someday, there will be on-site adoptions. Incredible Dogs opens Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and runs through Sunday, with multiple performances on the weekend.
Wednesdays-Fridays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m., 3 & 7 p.m.; Sundays, 1 & 5 p.m. Starts: Sept. 28. Continues through Oct. 23, 2011
