The turkey has been devoured, your in-laws have finally hit the road, and most important, you survived the first wave of holiday madness. What better way to round off the Thanksgiving weekend than to catch some rays on a Sunday afternoon? Make your midday destination the Caribbean Jazz Brunch on the Bay at Peacock Park. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy live music with legendary reggae quintet Third World. The smooth stylings of supporting acts Dean Frasier, Winston “Merritone” Blake, Bemol Telfort, and the Miami Pan Symphony add to the tropical vibe. Children get their kicks with Jamaican puppet shows, kite-making, hopscotch, and other activities, while adults can indulge in savory Caribbean cuisine and admire the art displays. Proceeds benefit several community organizations, including the Jamaican Children's Heart Fund. Admission is free, and the event takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Call 305-623-5078, or visit www.caribbeanjazzbrunch.com.
