In theory, revolution is sexy. You've read about the French insurgents and "liberté, égalité, fraternité" not to mention their superior ideals, coed troops, and military-chic outfits and it's all so gritty-glam. But then, in practice, the whole revolutionary-fervor thing invariably descends into shockingly inhuman blood and brutality. Just take a peek at the Frenchies' sequel: a little something called the Reign of Terror, featuring 16,594 official guillotine victims. Yikes.
That's why it's good to have people like party promoters Empire Events throwing mock radical get-downs such as Viva La Revolución at Louis this and every Tuesday. With DJs Rascal, Konflikt, Sub Zero, and Damaged Goods, it's the perfect place to sublimate our fantasies about antiestablishment action. So come clothed in the threads of aristocracy, pantaloons, the national cockade, or simple fatigues. The doors come down at 11 p.m., and there's no cover.
