If you pay attention to pop culture’s portrayal of love in Miami Beach, you would think it’s all about sex, drugs, and models. It isn’t? Apparently not, because the Miami Design Preservation League has been screening a whole film series, called Square Pegs in Round Holes, that focuses on characters trying to figure out love and life while living in Miami Beach and dealing with – gasp! – real issues. Tonight’s film is Miami Rhapsody, starring Mia Farrow, Antonio Banderas, and Sarah Jessica Parker before she got all fashionista on us and started having sex in the city.

The film centers around a Farrow/Parker/Banderas mother-daughter love triangle -- a plot we find pretty believable, given all the MILFs inhabiting our great city. You just might learn something from the movie -- or you just might realize your sexy mama really has been trying to seduce your man. The screening starts at 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Meet other romantic-comedy lovers at the Art Deco Welcome Center. Call 305-672-2014, or visit www.mdpl.org for a schedule of future screenings.
