Milking the CBS cash cow since 2000, the 24th installment of Survivor premieres in less than a month. Earlier today, the network unveiled the show's 18 contestants -- nine women, nine men -- who'll be vying for a million-dollar grand prize.
Among them is a dude who survived "a brief stint in college," raised 12 marmoset monkeys, knows very little about female contraceptives, and hates "women with manly hands." Meet Troy Robertson of Miami.
At 50 years old, Robertson is the third oldest contestant on Survivor: One World but looks less like an AARP benefits-eligible senior than he does a 30-year-old fitness guru. Dude has better abs than Jesus and much wavier hair to boot.
Robertson, a professional photographer and former model, is a self-taught prodigy who spent every last dime on his first camera at 17 years old. Soon thereafter, the budding photographer was in the Guatemalan rainforest shooting natives and their surroundings. According to the artist bio on his website, it was in the jungle where he fell in love with "the natural world and animal kingdom."
Since the early '90s, Robertson's lived in Miami and has shot everyone from Alex Rodriguez to Dwayne Wade, Sports Illustrated swimsuit models to baby giraffes.
