Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim
Day 5: July 23, 2012
Wildfox Swim, ANK by Mirla Sabino, A.Z. Araujo
at The Raleigh Hotel
1775 Collins Ave., Miami Beach

We stood in line. We dragged our high-heeled feet across the sand in hopes of getting through our last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim.

What kept us soldiering on? The promise of menswear.

Male models finally made a long-awaited appearance on the catwalks, wearing printed Speedos, short shorts, and male capris. And while we won't suggest you use their abs to wash your clothes anytime soon, feel free to gawk.

Wildfox Swim
Standout Looks: Plenty of printed one-pieces and cutesy separates.
We could do without:The colorful wigs. They took away from the easygoing vibe of the collection.

Trend Alert: Boots with swimwear. Why didn't we think of that?
The Vibe: Hipster hotties meet Bohemian chic
Cute Factor: How cute is this suit that reads, "Vacation, Get a tan, Swim Forever, Margarita"?

ANK by Mirla Sabino
Standout Looks: The candy-colored one shoulder one pieces make swimwear formal ... in a good way.

We could do without: The pink halter one-piece reminds us of an updated suit our grandma would wear.

Trend Alert: Swimwear in colors you'd find in an Easter basket.

The Vibe: Prissy yet powerful

Cute Factor: The biggest statement piece on ANK's runway was adorable, too: A sweetheart-shaped bandeau two-piece with mixed print fabrics.

Standout Looks: The cut-out one-pieces that looked more like two-pieces.

We could do without: The really high-cut one-piece that leaves very -- and we do mean very -- little to the imagination (see below). The print and the model's sour face aren't the only things making this look a lemon, hey-oh! But seriously, designers, less isn't always more.

Trend Alert: Vibrantly colored prints meets Latin flavor.

The Vibe: Fun, flirty, and a little hot, hot, hot.

Cute Factor: The men's swimwear. (And let's be honest: The male models, too.)
