Vazquez's video lays out a map of the city of Miami, and instead of the usual Westeros popping up as the camera moves, there are pictures and figures of some Miami staples. They include Dwyane Wade's face, a plastic alligator, and a bunch of cars stuck in traffic on the highway. There are also locations like People That Went to Braddock, Arepa Valley, and Medicaidlandia.
Instead of having Castle Black, Miami has a giant white wall to keep out the Whites.
This isn't the first time the popular Instagram user has posted about Game of Thrones. Last week, he shared with his more than 20,000 followers a photo with all the characters in the show and how each is connected. He included the caption, "For whoever
Although there is little we could discover about Vazquez — his Facebook community page simply says, "Pa vender pan con bistec" — judging by his recent sketch videos, we know he's Cuban. So we slipped one into his DM to learn more.
The 30-year-old moved from Cuba to Miami when he was only 7. He says he chose the symbols used to identify each area from stereotypes. These are "common knowledge to people who live here and through observation," he says. "I drive through the Palmetto traffic daily and have been dealing with the construction for years!"
If Game of Thrones were set in Miami, Vazquez doesn't see it unfolding much like the series we know. "It wouldn't really be about a war between the categories of people, but rather how each area is divided socially and how each draws a specific type of person," he says. "We all know how the Venezuelans live in Doral, the Cubans head to Hialeah, and Pinecrest is mainly the white higher-class who tend to love Starbucks."
