It's tough to be a celebrity. Sometimes magazine editors tell you your nipples will be covered with artwork and then when the issue comes out, it's a big areola party. If you watch Kourtney and Kim Take New York, then you got to watch this kind of drama unfold as Kim learned just how naked she would be in W's art issue during Sunday's episode.
We profiled the cover last October when our blogger called it "everything that's wrong with contemporary art culture." To see a glimpse of the silver body paint nudie pics, which Kim called "serious porn," check the NSFW pictures in our original post.
On Sunday night's episode, Kim appears shocked to learn that she would
appear nude in the spread. She was promised her delicate parts would be covered with
artwork. Perhaps Kim is not familiar with text artist Barbara Kruger,
whose "It's all about me/ I mean you/ I mean me" strategically masked
Kim's nipples and crotch on the cover. Inside, however, the only thing
between prying eyes and Kim's body was a smidge of silver paint. In Sunday's episode, Kim tells her sisters she looks more naked in W than in her Playboy spread.
After Scott Disik, Kourtney's beau, told Kim it looked like her boobs
were going to hit him in the face and after her mom
confirmed that the issue was already printed and shipping, Kim's outrage
enflamed. She said she'd never do another nude photo shoot again (well,
unless Vogue calls).
But by the time W sent her note saying it was their best cover ever, Kim had changed her tune, saying "I'm glad I did it." There's still no word on whether Kim caught a glimpse of our Bert Rodriuiez
spoof cover. But perhaps that will be the drama in next week's episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
