Wynwood Is Burning Drag Brunch at R House June 7, 11:30 a.m.
R House is trying to give the Palace Bar a run for its money. For the past couple of months they’ve hosed Wynwood is Burning, a dragtacular brunch for those who don’t want to schlep across the McArthur on a Sunday. This only happens the first weekend of every month, so don’t miss your chance to take in some of the mainland’s fiercest queens. Please call 305-576-0201 to make reservations!

Transart at Betsy South Beach and the LGBT Visitors Center June 11-30
Together with Unity Coalition and the Betsy Hotel, the LGBT Visitors center is hosting an exhibit of art from locals and imports that works to unpack the many layers of the transexual community. Apart from the main exhibit, several talks, luncheons, and screenings will be hosted by the Betsy. Check out Unity Coalition for more information regarding scheduling and pricing.

The MDGLCC will honor individual and corporate supporters of the local LGBT community with its annual gala and awards ceremony. Honorees include Mayor Phillip Levine, and the Adrienne Arsht Center, among others. The event starts with a silent auction and reception followed by a dinner and award presentation. The night wraps up with a dance party. Individual tickets are $200, and tables of 10 go for $2,000, that includes a buffet dinner, open bar courtesy of Grey Goose, and VIP gift bag. If you’d like to party at 1 with some of the town’s gay elite, then buy your tickets here, or call 305-673-4440.

Leslie Jordan at The Cabaret South Beach June 20-21, 8 p.m.
For those unaware, Leslie Jordan is probably the gayest thing to come out of the south since Huckleberry Hound. He won an Emmy in 2006 for Best Guest Actor in A Comedy for his portrayal of Karen’s sexually ambiguous rival on Will & Grace. He’s also a hysterical stand-up who’s bringing his wit to the Cabaret for a special two-day engagement. If you want to check out Jordan’s comedic chops up-close-and-personal then be sure to purchase your tickets in advance.
