Heres a twist to an annual outdoor, family-friendly, art festival: the chance to face off with a grandmaster chess player. At the South Miami Rotary Art Festival, grandmasters from the World Chess Hall of Fame are poised to take on all challengers. Apparently, apart from the title World Champion, grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. If youre not ready to throw down with a chess champ, stroll along while listening to smooth, soulful local jazz ensembles and take a look at work from more than 100 artists and craftsmen some who have traveled from as far away as England and Canada to showcase their artwork. The festival takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. today and Sunday. The festival will take place adjacent to the Shops of Sunset Place between Red Road and South Dixie Highway.
