It’s what we’ve all been waiting for, whether we admit it or not: 3-D invading porn. Well, not porn exactly, but definitely eroticism. Who’da thunk it was Red China that spent big money to have bodily fluids appear to float offscreen. OK, so that’s an exaggeration, but there will be boobies jumping out at you in Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy, a movie so sexy it was banned in its homeland. But before you sneak in a vat of Vaseline and a handful of napkins, just know that this movie actually has a plot and plenty of action of the noncoital variety. It will make its Florida premiere at Coral Gables Art Cinema Friday. Think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Vagina — only not so hidden. The story is based on an ancient Chinese erotic text and follows a philandering scholar who falls for the beautiful daughter of a priest. He loves her and wants to please her, so he practices — a lot, with a lot of ladies. There’s also plenty of knife throwing (what would a 3-D movie be without it?), some laughs, and great costumes. Warning: Objects onscreen are not as close as they appear, so don’t reach out and risk running your hands through the stranger’s hair in front of you. Props to the cinema for having the onions to show some skin in the usually conservative City Beautiful. No one under 17 will be admitted.
