IKEA, everyone's favorite black hole of Swedish furniture and screaming children, is hiring. Well, soon. The home décor giant is opening a new store in Sweetwater come summer 2014, and they're looking for a few good men and women to staff the place.
The new outpost is the chain's second store in South Florida, fourth in the state, and 39th in the States, and it's gonna be huge -- 416,000 square feet, to be exact. According to a news release, available jobs will be in all kinds of categories, from interior design to facility management to meatball merchandising.

According to the company, there will be almost 350 available positions in the following areas: home furnishings sales, interior design, customer service, safety and security, cashier, facility management, receiving, stock replenishment, and warehouse -- plus, foodie-esque jobs in the restaurant, Swedish food market, Café Bistro, and employee cafeteria.
The company has earned rave reviews as a sweet place to work. IKEA is on Fortunes's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, Working Mother magazine's "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" and Training magazine's annual "Top 100" ranking of companies that excel at human capital development. The outpost is being built on a 14.6-acre plot adjacent to Dolphin Mall (so you can buy lingerie, stilettos, and shower curtains the same afternoon). It'll also have 1,500 parking spaces, 10,000 exclusively designed items, 50 sample room settings, three model home interiors, a supervised children's play area, and a 600-seat restaurant.
Basically, it qualifies as its own city. And you can be one of the first employees if you play your cards right. Job listings can be found online.
