The rest of the globe might be still obsessing over the latest World Cup scorecards, but we Miamians will get our own dose of international intrigue this weekend. Sarazino, an Afro-Latin-reggae-Arabic-hip-hop-funk band, encompasses the worldliness of the soccer competition via music. Its led by Lamine Fellah, who was born in Algeria and has lived in Spain, Switzerland, Burundi, Chad, Burkina Faso, Canada, and now Ecuador. Hows that for a global citizen?
Sarazino recently made its U.S. debut with Ya Foy, which means no problem in the West African language of Dioula. And even though the vuvuzela is not one of its main instruments, expect a world music extravaganza when Sarazino brings new-age reggae-rock to Bardot.
