If you've never sipped top-shelf whiskey next to an ice-white European model chick while looking at a Picasso or discovering Matta, Cundo Bermudez, or Wilfredo Lam, then you haven't been to Gary Nader Gallery.
Nader told us, "I go all over the world and whatever I like that I would like to see in my house, I buy for the gallery. Dada, surrealism, constructivism, every possible movement. We're one of the few galleries in the world that has an inventory of so many artists."
At tomorrow's Wynwood Art Walk Nader presents "Great Masters: Small Works." The show of small-format masterpieces puts you up close and personal with paintings, drawings, and sculptures by some of the greatest artists the world has ever known.
We're talking about the Lamborghinis, Ferrari's, and Porsches of the art world. Check the jump to see the roster, view some pics, and read more of what Nader has to say about the show.
Nader continues: "Not everybody can be traveling the whole year round like I do to every major art fair and biennial all over the world. When you go to some people's houses, you appreciate in a corner or a bathroom, or any space really, a wall with a little masterpiece hanging. So, it's a space to be filled, and today a lot of people don't have the space to buy big works so this is what they do."
"I love to see the people's reactions when they visit the gallery. The truth is I would like to see more collectors with Lams, Mattas, and Chagalls in Miami, but it's just me. One seagull doesn't make the Summer."
The exhibit includes: Pablo Atchugarry, Fernando Botero,
Claudio Bravo, Cundo Bermudez, Agustin Cardenas, Mario Carreño, Marc
Chagall, Salvador Dali, Walter Goldfarb, Eugenio Granell, Martin
Kippenberger, Wifredo Lam, Julio Larraz, Enrique Martinez Celaya, Joan
