For many of us, this Friday means another short reprieve from another monotonous work day. For the music-loving, party-loving cool kid masses of Miami, however, Friday means three days of non-stop art and killer music performances otherwise known as the III Points Festival. Ahead of all this stimulation overload — much of it free of charge — we've got a week of cultural fun to prepare you for all that weekend revelry.

Monday
  • "Spells, Spirits & American Lore" at Deering Estate: Deering's spooky new exhibit explores the macabre and mysterious nature of the Northwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast American regions through painting, printmaking, and artist books.
  • CounterCulture Club nights at Miami Ironside: Enjoy a night of bocce ball, booze, bites, and beats by Silent Revolution with the folks from Belgian Nights Miami.
Tuesday
  • Scary-Okee at Churchill's: Sing metal, hip-hop, new wave, and more at Churchill's October-fied karaoke night.

Wednesday
  • Bar Games at The Annex: Get ready for a night of nostalgic fun with Jenga, Checkers, Connect Four, Miami Against Humanity, and more as you jam to the old school tunes of, Patrick & The Swayzees, plus a Dopedoll Vintage pop-up and swing dancing on the floor.
  • The Dark Knight Rises at SoundScape: Free outdoor movies resume today with Batman and Bane.
Thursday
  • Nerd Nite at Gramps: Booze it up and get knowledged up about Florida's scary specialties: invasive species and sharks.
  • Dance Band Night at North Beach Bandshell: Take dance lessons and enjoy live music from Barrio Abajo, performing rhythms like Cumbia, Bullerengue, Porro, the Chandé.
  • “Hazor, the Head of all those Kingdoms” at Deering Estate: Dr. Curtis McKinney will discuss his tours of Hazor, a Canaanite site that dates before Israel and is mentioned in the Bible, along with other Israeli sites.
  • Post-Work Pizza Party at Sweat Records: Chow down on complimentary pizza and PBR as you listen to AFROBETA's latest album "Dream About You."
Friday
  • Jedediah Caesar and Michael Namkung at Locust Projects: Catch both exhibits — "Stone Underground" and "Flying Towards the Ground" —  before they close on Saturday.
  • III Points at Wynwood: If you can't afford the concert tickets, dive into the many activations — from art installations to games.
