Wynwoods transformation from gritty warehouse zone into trendy arts district in the citys urban core is about two Basels away from completion. The area has become Miamis answer to 70s SoHo or modern-day Williamsburg for those under the age of 50. So its only fitting that the Electric Pickle is trying to keep up with the sweeping changes. The nightclub is barely two years old, but owners William Renuart and Tomas Ceddia determined it needed a new look. They gave the second floor a face-lift and named it El Bolero Room.
Designed by Mark Alan Diaz of MAD Design Group, the upstairs room has transformed from New York City loft-like space to speakeasy-meets-old-Miami mishmash joint. The design makes use of recycled materials, including preexisting wood from the ceiling used as paneling and a quirky fox hunt chandelier salvaged from the Wackenhut mansion in Coral Gables. Its enough to make any Miami hipster green with envy. Friday, check the space out for yourself when PL0T hosts Maayan Nidam and Lee Foss.
