During Art Basel, everyone likes to pretend it's all about the art, but we know better. It's about the easy-on-the-eyes guys and gals, the parties, and, most importantly, the booze. Nothing makes contemporary art seem more tolerable than your favorite libation. That's why we are not going to try to sell you on the idea of New Times' fourth annual Artopia at Villa 221 (221 NE 17th St., Miami), presented by the Miami International Film Festival, as a respectable art event. Sure, artists like Krave, Jeff Dekal, Nicholas F. Romero, Jose Mertz, Raymond Gems Adrian, and more will be exhibiting. And yes, Otto Von Schirach, Pocket of Lollipops, Boise Bob & the Backyard Band, and Lolo of Sweat Records will be providing the music. But what you are really concerned about is the liquor situation. Don't worry, there'll be plenty of it. Tickets are on sale for $20 for general admission, which includes one free drink, or $60 for VIP, which includes all the sweet, sweet alcohol you can imagine.
