Every year around this time — and this year on Thursday specifically — New Times gathers the finest, oldest, and newest local restaurants and asks them to offer a signature dish. It is then paired with a wine carefully selected by the proprietor of boutique wine shop Wine Watch.
For this edition, more than 40 local dining establishments will be represented, including Rok:Brgr, Bimini Boatyard, and Salt Seven. Gelato Petrini will serve cool desserts to cleanse the palate. Whether you’re a longtime South Florida foodie or a newbie who doesn’t know where to start, Pairings is the place to be this Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center (1950 Eisenhower Blvd., Fort Lauderdale).
The fifth annual New Times Pairings is strictly for those 21 and older, so none of those annoying mini-people will be running around to spoil your good time. General admission costs $50 online or $60 at the door.
