They made plans to investigate, meeting at the statue of Louis Pasteur on campus at one seemingly random yet destined-to-be-legendary time: 4:20. Little did they know that those three little numbers would soon evolve, first becoming slang and then transcending that pedestrian category to become something halfway between ritual and religion.
