Plenty of Miamians badmouth the citys putrid local music scene (oops, there we go again). But South Florida Bluegrass Association, which holds monthly concerts, has played music in the backwoods of Miami-Dade for a third of a century. Badass bluegrass, in the form of banjos, fiddles, mandolins, and upright basses, finds its way into South Floridas woods and some old-time music finds its way out. But the jam sessions are not just about keeping the legacy of the genre alive.
