Weekend Football: Any Given Friday Afternoon Post
Every weekend the local professional and college level football player-type people assemble on the field to play their games. Every weekend we write things about it, because it is an easy Friday afternoon post. We also post something dumb holding a football. This week is no exception. Anyway, we are feeling good after the Canes win last night. Let's hope the good cheer continues.
Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins, Sunday 1:00pm on CBS4
The most magnificent thing about Tony Sparano is no longer that his name sounds like Tony Soprano, but rather that he's managed to turn these Miami Dolphins into a winning team. He is not quite king of the first year coaches, but he deserves to be treated as royalty down here. Right now. Unless he drops a game to the lowly Raiders. Which he will not. Hopefully.
Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks @ the FIU Golden Panthers, Saturday 7:00 pm
FIU President Modesto Maidique announced his resignation today. He served in that position longer than most of the team has been alive. What has that got to do with football? IDK. I stopped pretending like I follow FIU weeks ago. They have a better record than these Warhawk characters, so fingers crossed. Do it for Maidique, FIU, do it for Maidique.
