University of Florida Threatened Students Not to Hang Out with Jersey Shore Cast
So after a brief flirtation with returning to Miami Beach for season four, the Jersey Shore-ites instead packed their bags and headed to Florence, Italy. It seemed that this time around, no Floridians would be harmed during filming. Actually, though, the University of Florida has a study abroad program in Florence and decided to send out an email to its student warning that partying with the guidos in Italy could lead to them getting kicked out.
Apparently some uptight administrator found out that one student in the program was caught on camera with the cast, and decided to send out the stern email. TMZ managed to get a hold of it. It warned, "any student who does agree to participate in the filming of the show, or who signs a waiver or legal agreement of any sort with MTV, will be dismissed from the program immediately."
TMZ contacted UF, but they quickly changed their tune. They acknowledge that merely being filmed for the program wasn't means for kicking them out on its own and reversed the previous statement.
Maybe they were just worried that Snooki and the Situation would make UF students look trashy in comparison (semi-kidding, but GO CANES!).
