Tea Party Miami Compares Politician to Aurora Shooter
"What Do Gus Barreiro and the Aurora Mass Murderer Have in Common?" reads the latest headline on TeaPartyMiami.org.
Yes, Tea Party Miami chairman Eric Von Tausch is shamelessly using the murder of 12 people to attack a politician he doesn't like.
Former state Rep. Gus Barreiro and former state Sen. Alex Diaz de la Portilla are embroiled in a bitter Republican primary battle in House District 112, and de la Portilla, a member of the Miami Republican political dynasty, has netted Tea Party support.
Given moves like this one, that might not be a blessing.
Barreiro originally retired from the House in 2006 due to term limits and landed a job in the Department of Juvenile Justice. However, he was fired in early 2009 after an audit of his laptop revealed he was regularly viewing porn on the state-owned computer. There was also evidence that he was regularly viewing AdultFriendFinder.com, a casual-sex networking site, using the screen name "CubanCigar107."
The New York Daily News apparently uncovered a profile on AdultFriendFinder.com that allegedly belonged to the Aurora, Colorado, shooter James Holmes.
That one thing is what they have in common.
What's absolutely disgusting, though, is how Tea Partier Von Tausch thinks it's appropriate to capitalize on the cold-blooded murder of 12 innocent people.
