The shocking news came late Tuesday afternoon, when the South Florida Concierge Association sent an email out to local hotels with the following message:

We have received word from Pacific Time that they have closed their doors effective immediately.

Chef/proprietor Jonathan Eismann helped pioneer the resurgence of Lincoln Road by opening Pacific Time, the first serious restaurant there, in 1993. In the fourteen years since, the pan Asian landmark consistently put out some of the finest seafood dishes in town. There are, in fact, very few local dining establishments that achieved the iconic status of this beloved eatery. Rumors suggesting a new Pacific Time in the Design District have been floating for months. Let's hope they're true. We left a message with Jonathan, and as soon as we hear from him we'll clue you in. --Lee Klein
