Over The Weekend - Madonna, Q-Tip and White Party Week
Talk about your long weekends. Most of us, although not us at New Times, had a four-day weekend thanks to the Thankgiving holidays. That gave plenty of you time to celebrate Black Friday by crushing your fellow man to death as you and thousands of others rush into your local Wal-Mart to get that extra 30 percent off those items you want. Got to love the holidays!
So in case you were camping out in front of Best Buy starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, here is what you missed over the weekend:
Madonna at Dolphin Stadium
Madonna showed why she lives in the gym Wednesday night at Dolphin Stadium. She may not be the Material Girl anymore, but she can still put on a show. Click here to read the full review.
Q-Tip at Revolution
A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip rocked the house at Fort Lauderdale's Revolution along with hipster-hop duo the Cool Kids. Rumor is even P. Diddy was spotted enjoying the show. Click here to read the full review.
'80s Prom at The Vagabond
Talk about your head-scratchin' irony -- hipster borrowing from '80s fashion isn't that much a stretch, but when you can dress up like you are going to prom in a John Hughes film, you know you've got to attend. Click here to view the full slideshow.
2008 Thanksgiving Pool Party at the Surfcomber Hotel
Erick Morillo, Kaskade and more pumped out the music for Space's Thanksgiving Pool Party Friday at the Surfcomber. The weather wasn't exactly great, but when you have good music who cares. Click here to view the full slideshow.
White Party Week
You'd think with all the laws against gay marriage recently passing that our fellow gay men and women wouldn't be up to partying. Ha! White Party Week will still big and better than ever. Check out our slideshow from White Party at Vizcaya and Muscle Beach.
