North Miami mayoral candidate Anna Pierre needs your prayers because someone has opened a can of voodoo on her ass. On Easter Sunday, Pierre says, she discovered what appeared to be your typical "Voodoo Starter Kit" in front of her campaign headquarters' doors. Over the past few months, this twisted Easter Bunny has also left chicken feathers, food scraps, and candles outside her crib.
"I found little dolls with needles in it. They put a lot of pennies in front of my office door," Pierre told the Miami Herald. "I'm from Haiti. I know what it is."
Pierre may not be a household name in Miami (and is unrelated to the current North Miami mayor/scandal magnet, Andre Pierre), but on the island, she's famous. Pierre is known for her pop hit single " Suk Su Bon Bon," a song that demands her husband "put some sugar on her cookie" or his ass is getting kicked to the curb. Sounds like an ultimatum, dog!
Pierre's campaign promises to focus on education and crime prevention. She points to her role of setting up several community health clinics around North Miami and her charity work promoting an annual Father's Day concert.

As for the voodoo curse, she tells NBC it won't scare her off before the May 14 election, in which she faces seven other candidates (including former Mayor Kevin Burns).
"The voodoo stuff, I don't know who's doing it, but I'm not afraid," she tells the station. "It's just intimidation to... slow me down. But you know what? I'm not going to slow down until the finish line."
