How Did Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson Know About Bin Laden's Death Before Everyone Else?
Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson is a powerful man. The part-time Miami resident has an NCAA football championship ring with the '91 Hurricanes, the best opening for a movie in April with his latest flick, Fast Five, and apparently access to top-secret information long before the general public. Hours before Osama bin Laden's death was officially announced, Johnson took to his Twitter feed to tell everyone he'd just been informed of some big news.
Here Rocky's tweet. It came about 45 minutes before news outlets officially reported that President Obama would announce bin Laden's death:
Johnson later confirmed the tweet was indeed about bin Laden being killed.
So how did Johnson get the news before the rest of us? Well, even before the media could officially confirm it, there were several rumors and unofficial reports that the president's announcement would concern the death of bin Laden. Maybe Rocky just threw caution to the wind and ran with the unconfirmed reports.
Or maybe, in his unofficial capacity as Obama's badass alter ego -- the Rock Obama -- Johnson was able to pick up on something regular people couldn't, and could smell what Barack was cooking.
