Here Is Kevin Garnett Elbowing Quentin Richardson's Face (And Giving the Heat a Chance to Win Game 2)
The Celtics already had Game 1 on lock down. All Quentin Richardson was doing was running his mouth a little during trash time. And yet enraged, silly man-child Kevin Garnett couldn't keep it together.
You've probably watched this highlight 15 times since Saturday (especially because it's a lot more entertaining than highlights of Cool Beaz's narcolepsy on the hardwood.)
But Garnett's flying suplex to Richardson's jaw line is infinitely more entertaining now that the NBA has made it official: Garnett is suspended for Game 2.
So watch it again in slow mo: Bam! The Heat actually have a chance to win! Smack! Garnett is a world-class moron! Pow! And he let his team down!
In Boston, they're already making excuses for Big G, the league's dirtiest player. (Cue whiny Boston accent): "He plays with passion. He was protecting his teammates. That's why they love him."
Nope. Not buying it. If the guy cared about his team, he'd keep his elbows and emotions in check just enough to, you know, actually play in a critical Game 2.
His Celtics already kicked the Heat in the balls by erasing a 14-point, third-quarter deficit in Game 1. Garnett scored 15 and completely dominated Beasely, who might or might not have had a Roofie-colada before game time.
The Bulls' Joakim Noah probably summed it up best yesterday: Garnett is a dirty player. Always has been. Take it away, Joakim:
"I'm going to say it: He's a dirty player," Noah told the Boston Globe. "He's always swinging elbows, man. I'm hurting right now because of an elbow he threw. It's unbelievable. He's a dirty player. It's one thing to be competitive and compete and all that. But don't be a dirty player, man. He's a dirty player."
