George Zimmerman Arrested for Domestic Disturbance in Seminole County
George Zimmerman certainly hasn't managed to keep himself on the right side of the law ever since he was acquitted of the murder of Trayvon Martin, and now he'd heading back to jail. Zimmerman was arrested this afternoon by Seminole County deputies after they received reports of a disturbance.
Orlando-area tv news station WESH reports that Zimmerman was arrested on domestic violence charges after an altercation with his new girlfriend.
Zimmerman is currently estranged from his wife Shellie Zimmerman, and the two have begun divorce proceedings.
The Orlando Sentinel doesn't confirmWESH's specifics, but notes that the new girlfriend does live in the area where the disturbance was reported.
Update: According to CNN, Zimmerman allegedly pointed a shotgun at his girlfriend. He was charged with aggravated assault, domestic violence battery and criminal mischief. According to TMZ, the woman claims she is pregnant.
Zimmerman's last brush with the law came in September during an incident where he allegedly got into a violent argument with his soon-to-be-ex father-in-law and Shellie. Shellie and her family refused to press charges at the time, and the case was eventually dropped due to lack of evidence.
