Florida Man Swallowed Two Necklaces During Robbery
Officials at the Pinellas County jail have been using X-Ray machines to spot counterfeit items on inmates since June. This past Thursday, they found an inmate who had swallowed the very things he had been accused of stealing.
Joseph Ramos, 21, was arrested for a burglary that occurred in Safety Harbor, Florida. Police pulled him over driving a stolen vehicle, and inside his car, found several items from the home. Though, Ramos apparently wasn't ready to give up all the loot.
At some point he swallowed two necklaces, though deputies weren't aware of it right away.
Deputies put Ramos through a SecurPass Scanner during the booking process and discovered a dark clump near his stomach.
Ramos underwent surgery to remove the items and it turned out they were necklaces he had stolen from the house. He was charged with a count of robbery and a count of tampering with evidence.
The owner confirmed that they were hers after they had been surgically removed from Ramos. No word on whether or not she will continue to wear them. Also no word on whether or not word of Ramos' amazing swallowing abilities made its way to other inmates.
