Eighteen-year-old Robert Marucci started working in adult entertainment to support his family, but managed to keep his education on track. In fact, he's a high school senior at Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida. However, when fellow students discovered his extracurricular activities, the school's principal suspended Marucci and put his chances of getting a diploma in jeopardy.
Marucci has appeared in several scenes on the bareback gay porn site SeanCody.com [NSFW], a site known for using clean-cut, all-American type boys in explicit condom-less sex. Appearing under the stage name "Noel," Marucci, who doesn't identify as gay, is seen in a film participating in a six-man bareback orgy.
Marucci's mother knew about the career and supported his decision. The family, apparently, relied on Marucci's income from the films.
"I think he's the most awesome person in the world," his mother Melyssa Lieb told Click Orlando. "He stood up and he was the man of the house when I couldn't be."
After students found the films online and began swapping pics on their phones, the principal, Dr. Stephanie Soliven, responded by suspending Marucci. School officials wouldn't talk about specifics with Click Orlando, but did say they believe Marucci violated the public school's student code of conduct. Official school paperwork also says that Marucci threatened to bring weapons to school, but he denies those allegations.
"I feel like I have been treated unfairly and this is unjust," Marucci told the station. "This was completely legal. I didn't break any laws, and this took place out of the school."
His family claims that he's a good student with a previously clean behavioral record.
Several fellow students have come to his defense. A walkout was staged on Friday to protest the suspension, and several students have come to his defense online by changing their Facebook profile pictures to an image featuring the words "Support Robert."
SeanCody.com, the site that decided to profit off casting a high school student in orgy scenes, has not commented on the matter.
