OK, so we all know how annoying it can be to plug in to social media sometimes, and have to check all of the outlets, sift through spam bots, junk tweets, retweets, and boring statuses. But what if all of the most interesting information that comes from your social media outlets could be easily seen in a personalized, magazine-style format on your iPad? Cue Flipboard.
It's been inspired by the clean layouts available in traditional print media, and brings photos, links, news, and updates otherwise shared on Twitter and Facebook into one big, print-style online magazine, with flippable pages, pull quotes, and links to see more information. Images used are your friends' latest additions, or photos uploaded to Twitter, and it's all customizable. But is this just a fancier way of getting newer generations to read magazines and bring print back to life?

We think it might be. Simply launch the app, flip open the cover to get started, and personalize and view your sections in the table of contents. After the basics are taken care of, you can quickly "flip" through the latest stories and updates from people you "follow" and put all of the information on there, sans link after tedious link and minus the headaches of scanning through long lists to find what you really want to read.
Taking the guesswork out of social media seems to be a hot commodity, for big names such as Ashton Kutcher, Facebook cofounder Dustin Moskovitz, Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey, and many others have invested in the company, raising $10.5 million so far. And the app was officially launched only yesterday. But what do you think?
