Escape Reality With Football
After what is sure to be a dramatic Presidential debate tonight, it'll be relaxing to follow some contests where the winner won't decide the fate of our nation.
The dick sandwich servin', pig flyin' Dolphins have a bye this week, but the city's two college teams should keep your mind of the economy long enough (uh, unless you have something on the riding game).
University of North Carolina Tar Heels @ University of Miami Hurricanes, 12:00 pm on ESPN2
The Hurricanes return to their new home to face off against an old friend, former Head Coach Butch Davis (one time coach, colleague and mentor of Randy Shannon). The Tar Heels beat the Canes last year, but with UNC's starting quarterback TJ Yates out for the game, the Canes are the favorite. The stakes are high: it's the Cane's first in conference game, a decisive victory would put them closer to the top 25, and they could use the continued morale boost heading into their next match against rivals Florida State.
FIU Golden Panthers @ University of Toledo Rockets, 7:00 pm on WINZ (940 AM)
The Panthers are win-less so far their season, but impressed last week by holding their own against USF. Pual McCall will continue in his role as starting quarterback. Will the team as a whole continue it's role as looser or will they pull a Sparano and go from notorious losers to surprise winners? Maybe there's something in the local water.
