Drunk Florida Man Attacks Three Disney World Cast Members
Disney World wasn't the happiest place on earth Saturday. Austin DeVan Hill, 24, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, was arrested after he went on what appeared to be a drunken rampage and injured three cast members at Epcot.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Milton, Florida man was there for Epcot's annual International Food & Wine Festival and somehow wound up in an area off-limits to guests. He punched two male cast members in the face and used a PVC pipe to hit a female cast member.
Hill had entered the backstage office area in the East Innoventions attraction and tried to hijack a cargo work cart when he got into the confrontation.
Michael Connelly received a large gash to his head. Timothy Beltley, though punched in the face, walked away without more serious injuries. Jessica Brown was struck with the pipe in her left cheek and neck and was left with swelling behind her ears. The men were treated at nearby Celebration Hospital, while Brown was treated on the scene.
Security officers arrived and tried to subdue the apparently drunken Hill. He continued to yell incoherent statements and at one point broke away from the officers. They were able to eventually wrangle him to the ground. When police arrived, Hill had blood on his knees, wrists and hands.
Hill graduated from the Naval Academy in 2012 and was a long snapper on the Navy football team.
