"Driven to Dine " Offers a Haute Luck Dinner
The evening begins with a cocktail reception, at a fabulous home in Indian Creek, with ten or twelve of your favorite friends. After the requisite mingling with other guests, including Dr. Arthur "South Beach Diet" Agatston, you will pick a number from a hat. This number dictates which of the limos lined up outside the house will whisk you and your group to a first-class restaurant. The restaurant is...well, that's a mystery until you arrive for your meal. It's a haute luck dinner, so to speak, all in the name of fun, fine dining, and philanthropy.
Driven to Dine is what they are calling this unique fundraising adventure, which will take place Saturday evening, April 28, and benefit The Florida Heart Research Institute. Your heart-healthy dinner will be lavishly set at one of these dozen esteemed establishments: Cacao Restaurant; Oceanaire Seafood Room; Casa Casuarina; Norman's Restaurant; Escopazzo: Grass Restaurant & Lounge; Karu & Y; Ortanique on the Mile; The Havana Club; Neomi's at the Trump Sonesta Hotel; North One 10; and David Bouley Evolution. Arrivals at the restaurant will be greeted by the chef and staff "as if you were Brad and Angelina," organizers say -- presumably without all the paparazzi.
After being wined and dined, an awaiting limo will take guests back to the reception location, where they will get listed in the program book and receive a special VIP gift bag. The luxe evening comes at a cost of $500 per person, for a limo of ten to twelve people. Singles, or small groups, will be placed in a limo with others. Intrigued? Call 305-674-3020. -- Lee Klein
