As the University of Miami weathered a category five storm of controversy last week spurred by Nevin Shapiro's investigations, the university's president Donna Shalala remained relatively quiet, only releasing a terse statement. This afternoon she released a nearly six minute video on YouTube commenting on the scandal, and says that 15 current University of Miami athletes are under investigation.
"I'm saddened and disappointed by the allegations leveled by some current and former members of the University community," said Shalala.

The allegation leveled against current and former Miami coaches and student athletes and coaches are serious, and we are treating them with the urgency and priority they warrant."
