We've blogged a few times about generically named politician Bob Smith's threat to run for Senate, but it seems we never got around to mentioning that he officially declared. This is probably because it doesn't actually matter.
Smith used to be a New Hampshire senator but then retired to Florida. He occasionally creeps out of retirement to run for something embarassing (such as the 2008 presidential nomination for the Constitution Party) and then loses. Now he is trying to grab the solidly right-wing support that Marco Rubio already has dibs on.
Here he is in his den (which I actually think is quite nice; red walls are a bold but rewarding choice, no?) explaining why he's running.
