Bomb Squad Called Out to Detonate "Suspicious Device" on Key Biscayne

A thermos-size "suspicious device" caused panic on Key Biscayne this morning. The device was discovered unattended near the shoreline on the sands behind the Sonesta Hotel on 350 Ocean Dr. earlier today.

WSVN tweeted an image of the device in question.

Obviously, tensions are high in the wake of the bombing during the Boston Marathon, and local authorities are taking no chances. A bomb squad was called out to detonate the device.

CBS Miami is streaming live video of the scene here.

Update: It appears the device has just been detonated.
