He's a DJ-booth whore — getting in and out of venues all over Miami while charming crowds via dirty house, electro, and open-format tracks. And now it's time to wish local DJ Troy Kurtz a happy birthday as he kicks off his b-day celebration by popping off some tunes at Arkadia's Disco Shit party this Friday. "I can't wait," Kurtz enthuses. "Expect a lot of bass."

To get warmed up for the festivities, Kurtz has released Haute & Bothered Vol. 2, a new 30-minute mix that rolls through deep house, electro, and dubstep. It's for real music aficionados who can appreciate funk from all genres. "The songs I included are too ahead of the curve for me to ever get a chance to play them in clubs around Miami," Kurtz says. "But the mix features a lot of young, talented producers that I feel are pressing the boundaries of dance music."
When the weekend finally arrives, we'll whip out the noisemakers, Kurtz will provide the beats, and you'll bring the cake. It'll be another excuse to dress up and lay down some moves in Miami Beach.
