Ten Best Music-Related Things to Do in Miami This Weekend Under $10

Good, Friday's here.

For some folks, April 6, 2012 is a Friday like any other. If you're a practicing Christian, however, and buy into the whole canonical gospels--particularly John 19:42--thing, you know that today marks the 1,977th anniversary of Jesus Christ's crucifixion.

While you may rot in hell for eating red meat and chicken today, no one said anything about getting drunk off cheap beer and listening to music.

Spend "Good Friday" like a budget-conscious gangsta and check out the Ten Best Music-Related Things to do This Weekend in Miami under $10.

Good Friday Holy Mackerel Jam. Friday, April 6 at 10:30 p.m., Cabaret Stage at Tobacco Road (626 S Miami Ave., Miami). $5.

Something smells a little fishy about this mini jam fest. We're getting the impression that despite it's "Good Friday" moniker, the Holy Mackerel Jam isn't a church-sanctioned event.

Hot 8 Brass Band. Friday, April 6 at 10 p.m., The Stage (170 NE 38th St., Miami). $10. They might as well relocate to Miami, because this New Orleans band spends more time here than they do in the French Quarter.

Conjunto Progreso. Friday, April 6 at 11 p.m., PAX (337 SW Eighth St., Miami). $10. Azucar! Get your salsa on this Friday night en Little Havana.

Dragonette. Friday, April 6 at 11 p.m., Mansion (1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach). Free with RSVP code #1126 at www.guestcode.com. Canada rocks. Better year, Canana electro pops.

Panic Bomber. Friday, Arpil 6 at 10 p.m., Vagabond (30 NE 40th St., Miami). Free before 11 p.m.. It's simple; show up early, get in for free. Those $10 you saved on admission, use 'em at the bar for $1 PBR Tallboys.

Peachfuzz. Friday, April 6 at 10 p.m., The Garret at Grand Central (697 N Miami Ave., Miami). Free. No cover, no problem--$5 Grolsh and 90s music videos. Hell yes!

The Firebird WallCast. Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m., SoundScape Park (500 17th St., Miami Beach). Free. Add some class to your weekend and catch the symphony for zero dollars.

Surprise!!!. With Pentagram Oxagram, A Call To Arms, and others. Saturday, April 7 at 8 p.m., Sweat Records (5505 NE Second Ave., Miami). Free. Support local music, bitches.

Radioboxer. Saturday, April 7 at 11 p.m., Bougainvillea's Old Florida Tavern (7221 SW 58th Ave., South Miami). Free. Radio sucks, but Radioboxer's not bad. Check 'em out this weekend at Bougainvillea's.

Chocolate Sunday. Sunday, April 8 at 10 p.m., Purdy (1811 Purdy Ave., Miami Beach). Free. Spend Easter taking shots, not coloring eggs.
