For some folks, April 6, 2012 is a Friday like any other. If you're a practicing Christian, however, and buy into the whole canonical gospels--particularly John 19:42--thing, you know that today marks the 1,977th anniversary of Jesus Christ's crucifixion.

While you may rot in hell for eating red meat and chicken today, no one said anything about getting drunk off cheap beer and listening to music.

Spend "Good Friday" like a budget-conscious gangsta and check out the Ten Best Music-Related Things to do This Weekend in Miami under $10.

Good Friday Holy Mackerel Jam. Friday, April 6 at 10:30 p.m., Cabaret Stage at Tobacco Road (626 S Miami Ave., Miami). $5.

Something smells a little fishy about this mini jam fest. We're getting the impression that despite it's "Good Friday" moniker, the Holy Mackerel Jam isn't a church-sanctioned event.

Hot 8 Brass Band. Friday, April 6 at 10 p.m., The Stage (170 NE 38th St., Miami). $10. They might as well relocate to Miami, because this New Orleans band spends more time here than they do in the French Quarter.

Conjunto Progreso. Friday, April 6 at 11 p.m., PAX (337 SW Eighth St., Miami). $10. Azucar! Get your salsa on this Friday night en Little Havana.
