Sydney Blu is a Canada native turned Magic City resident who is taking the local house scene by storm. Inspired by '90s legends such as Danny Tenagalia, Deep Dish, Roger Sanchez, and Eric Morillo, she began DJing ten years ago in her hometown of Toronto. She launched her own label, Blu Music, more than a year ago, but she's really making a mark in 2010. She was all over Winter Music Conference, playing huge parties such as Nikki Beach's annual Welcome to Miami WMC opener, and in recent months, she's kicked off a bimonthly residency at Mansion.
"Mansion is my new home and the reason I moved to Miami. I plan to brand my shows there this year with my Blu brand and make them larger than life," she says. "We are in the works of a Sydney Blu album in which I will also involve the residency." Check it all out this Saturday at the club, where she promises a set that includes some of her original tracks as well as those by artists on her label roster.
