Stalley Exclusive: His New EP, Mixtape and Album Plans
In between thinking like a heathen and speaking like a genius, Stalley's got to find some time to hit the studio.
That's why at this very moment, the owner of the only beard to rival that of his MMG boss, Rick Ross, in terms of undeniable allure to soup and women alike, is in upstate New York recording a new EP that he hopes to release within the next few weeks.
Last night, he spoke to Crossfade about moving into a "nice, big house" in the Hudson Valley, along with the producers with whom he's working on the project. These include Soundtrakk and the Huntsville production team Block Beattaz, whose tracks comprised most of Stalley's ace new mixtape, Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream.
After the cut, more info about the EP, as well as Stalley's next mixtape, debut album, and upcoming Miami show.

Back with us? Good. The EP, whose working title is "The Cruising EP," will be "summertime, feelgood music," according to Stalley during a break from the vocal booth. "It's what you'll want to put on in the car, in the house, at a barbecue."
"I'm into muscle cars," Stalley told us about the themed collection. "That's how I spent my summers, cruising and having a good time out in cars. No one has ever done a soundtrack to that, so I'm going to."
The music is going to "sound like summer. Like beaches, beautiful women, beautiful cars." The inspiration is a mix of memories from his childhood in Massillon, Ohio, as well as the new life he's found on his frequent visits to Miami. Stalley aims to release the EP as soon as he can.
"Hopefully, I get that out the second week of July," he said.
But that's not all our man has in the works. After he finishes the EP, he'll be spending his summer not burning gas in Massillon but working on his fifth mixtape and his debut album.
"I'm going to try to turn the album in around September for release in January or February. Right in there at the start of the year," Stalley said. The mixtape will appear in the lead up to the album, most likely in October or thereafter.
In the meantime, check out Stalley live at Grand Central this Friday, June 22. He'll be joined by The Maybach Family, a loose collective of MCs from Ross's crew including Gunplay, Sam Sneak and a bunch of other MMG spitters. M-m-m-m-m-maybach!
And watch this space over the next few days for a bunch of other Stalley exclusives, including the inaugural picks in Crossfade's Stalley Book Club.
