This Friday and Saturday marked the second annual edition of the So Raw Festival, which, along with its attendant warm-up one-offs, just scored a New Times nod for Best Concert Series. We adore a homegrown labor of love, and especially one that keeps the free-with-low-admission booze a-flowin'.
The flat-out weirdest act of the evening was probably Lake Worth'sLove Handles
, a trio who maybe kinda sorta not really sound like the Fall, if the Fall had very rudimentary equipment and brains fried from the South Florida sun. (Think lots of repetition, and songs that start one way but end in completely another.) They certainly rep Lake Worth hard, as they mentioned their Palm Beach county hometown a couple times, despite the fact that some of the Biscayne Corridor diehard kids in the crowd seemed to have little idea of where that actually is.
