Six Best Parties on South Beach July 26 to 30
How's that epic summer checklist going? Have you had that midnight bonfire somewhere near the Everglades, conquered sky diving, or gotten in touch with your Southern roots and given cow tipping a shot?
Likely not. But there's still time to cross some quintessential summer activities off your list. And here's one you can actually accomplish: Pull a SoBe all-nighter and still make it to work on time the next day.
Now, check out New Times' six best parties on South Beach this week, should you choose to accept the rager challenge.
Luciano. Friday, July 26, 11 p.m., LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4680; livnightclub.com. Tickets cost $75 to $125 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. It isn't just Luciano's uhntz-uhntz that makes the party people throw their fists in the air and pump 'em like they just don't care. His charisma and energy alone get the beat freaks goin'.
Carl Craig. With Agoria, Ms. Mada, and Thunderpony. Friday, July 26, 11 p.m., Treehouse, 323 23rd St., Miami Beach; 305-614-4478; treehousemiami.com. Tickets cost $10 to $15 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Techno was born in Detroit almost 30 years ago. And Grammy-nominated DJ Carl Craig witnessed its creation. Today, the EDM master continues to spin elements of electronic jazz and soul into intellectually advanced electronic masterpieces. "Techno is music that uses imagination to develop the fantasy of what the future can be," says Craig. In that case, dive into tomorrow, techno junkies.
Tritonal's Metamorphic Tour. With Topher Jones and Laurent Simeca. Saturday, July 27, 11 p.m., Mansion, 1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-695-8411; mansionmiami.com. Tickets cost $30 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Tritonal's the bomb! No really, it's the term for an explosive mix of 80 percent Trinitrotoluene and 20 percent aluminum powder, which is almost 20 times more powerful than TNT alone. So brace yourselves for this DJ duo of the same name. The club's gonna be reduced to rubble.
Tim Mason. With Mednas. Saturday, July 27, 11 p.m., LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4680; livnightclub.com. Tickets cost $60 to $75 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. "I love how something that is so intangible can connect so many people, whether they're in the same place or a million miles away," Tim Mason writes in his bio. "I live for those moments on the dance floor when everyone and everything is electric." So if you wanna connect with like-minded strangers who share the same love, tonight's the night. One house, one love.
Behrouz. With Lee Burridge. Saturday, July 27, 11 p.m., Story, 136 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-538-2424; storymiami.com. Tickets cost $30 to $40 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. When two EDM giants combine their beat-banging powers, you know it's gonna be one hell of a getdown. Especially when you're talking about Behrouz, a fist-pumping veteran who's revered everywhere, from L.A. to Ibiza, and Lee Burridge, a pioneer of Hong Kong's underground club scene. Party hard, legends.
dBerrie. Presented by Industry Tuesday. Tuesday, July 30, 11 p.m., Bamboo, 550 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-695-4771; bamboomiamibeach.com. Tickets cost $20 to $30 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Known for uhntz-uhntz-ing remixes of Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know," Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," and Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive," dBerrie is a pro at putting his own inimitable spin on things. Much like turning a typical Tuesday into a megaparty. Not too shabby for a weekday.
